New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 11, 2020) follows:

Huwaei shared the EMUI 10 update roadmap for all the Huawei and Honor devices back in November that depicts when the devices will be served with the EMUI 10 update.

Moreover, as stated in the timeline, the beta recruitment for EMUI 10 update began on time for the users of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro.  Following that, users were waiting for the stable update to hit their units.

And in a recent turn of events, Huawei in an official tweet has responded to a query stating that the EMUI 10 stable update for Indian users of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be arriving by the mid of January 2020.

You can check out the tweet below:

We would like to inform you that BETA Testing of Android 10 / EMUI 10.0 for Huawei P20 Pro device has been recently closed. We are at the final stages of releasing the software, the stable version of Android 10 Release can be expected by mid of January 2020.

Not only this, in another tweet, Huawei has also clarified that the European users of the Huawei P20/P20 Pro will be getting the EMUI 10 update starting from March 2020.

Hey Georg, great that the problem has been fixed. The rollout of the Android 10 update is scheduled to start in March. The rollout can take up to 4 weeks, please be patient. Best regards, Carlotta from HUAWEI Mobile.

In another development, EMUI 10 (Android 10) update is off the cards for the Honor Play as per a couple of tweets from Honor India. Responding to a query, it stated that:

We understand your interest in EMUI upgrade. Please be informed that we have roll-out our EMUI upgrade plan for all the devices. For Honor Play we will continue to provide regular security updates and necessary update enhancing device to perform at optimum level.

In fact, back in October, we came up with a report where on one hand Honor India clarified that Honor Play will not get EMUI 10 update, while on the other hand, Huawei Mobile UK, contradictorily responded that the company is still working on the final version of the EMUI 10 for Honor Play.

And in December, the Honor Play got the December security patch. And now as per the latest tweets from Honor India, it is kind of clear that Honor Play might not receive EMUI 10 update.

Though we cannot confirm anything especially considering the contradictory responses from Huawei in this matter. We will keep you in the loop until there is any concrete information in this regard.
