Owned by Facebook, Instagram is undoubtedly one of the most voguish social media platforms, that is well-liked especially by youngsters to share their social life with friends and family. And just like users of other services, Instagrammers are usually exhilarated and curious to try new features.
Well, well, two such new features are now in works, meaning, if things go smoothly, Instagrammers may get to see them soon. So what are these features?
Share DM (Direct Messages) to Story
Stories on Instagram, as you may know, just like Snapchat, lets you share your moments, i.e. multiple pictures and videos in a slideshow format for 24 hours, and they automatically disappear after that. But there could be an addition to this.
As of now, Insta is testing a feature that’ll let you share Direct Messages (DM) in Stories. Not only photos and videos but even DMs. The information comes credits to Jane Manchuk Wong. See for yourself the Share to Story option that shows up to share a DM as a story:
Apart from that, a feature that I am sure Instagrammers would love to have is the ability to control who mentions them (their account) in stories, comments, and captions. For those looking forward to something like this, well, the developers have heard you. Insta may soon add this feature to the service.
Instagram is working on letting users choose who can mention them
This can protect users from harassments
Here’s what the feature description reads:
Choose who can @mention you to link to your account in stories, comments and caption. If you limit who can @mention you, they’ll know that you don’t allow everyone to @mention you if they try to. Blocked accounts can still @mention, but we won’t tell them about your settings and you won’t get a notification if they do.
Here’s a glimpse of the option Allow @Mentions from that’ll give you an option to chose from – Everyone, People you follow, or no mentions at all by turning them off:
Sounds interesting, right? Here’s hoping Instagrammers get to try these features soon.
