New updates have been added to the bottom of this story…

Original story (from January 09) follows:

OnePlus accounted for 35% of the premium smartphones sold in India in Q3 2019, becoming the leading vendor in the segment ahead of Samsung and Apple at 23% and 22%, respectively.

This is according to Counterpoint research, wich mentions devices like the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7 series as the major driving factors to this market performance.

These figures aren’t hidden. Matter of fact, the same report notes that India is an important market for OnePlus considering it contributes a quarter of the company’s entire smartphone shipments across the globe.

But still, Reliance Jio, the second-largest mobile network operator in India with over 360 million subscribers, for some reason, has launched its Wi-Fi Calling service for multiple Android and iOS devices, but no OnePlus phone is officially supported.

As you can see from the drop-down list above, OnePlus is nowhere to be seen, which is strange given the sheer number of OnePlus phones in the hands of Indians – and Jio network for that matter.

This issue, as expected, is causing uproar among OnePlus fans using Jio and would also like to have the VoWiFi feature on their devices. Be it Twitter or the official OnePlus forums, you’ll find them. But there is a reason to smile after all.

Apparently, even with no official support, you can still enable Jio VoWiFi service on your OnePlus handset. You’ll need to download and install an app known as OnePlusLogKit from the APK Mirror in order to enable this feature.

How to enable Jio VoWiFi on OnePlus devices

Once you have installed the OnePlusLogKit app above, follow the steps below to enable Jio VoWiFi on your handset.

1. Open the dialer app on your OnePlus phone.
2. Dial *#800# and hit ENTER when a warning message pops up.
3. Tap on the OnePlus Logkit option and then Function Switch at the bottom of the new screen.
4. Select the VoWiFi switch box and then reboot the phone.

When your phone turns on, there should be a VoWiFi option under Settings > Wi-Fi & Internet > SIM & Network.

So far, a handful of Jio users on various OnePlus devices have come out to confirm that the trick works, although some say the quality of calls isn’t perfect just yet.

It’s worth noting that this workaround may not work for every OnePlus device on Reliance Jio, but we do expect that the responsible parties will eventually enable Jio VoWiFi support on OnePlus devices officially, hence no need for these hassles.

Update 1 (January 12)

Reliance Jio customer care on Twitter has confirmed the carrier is in touch with OnePlus over this incompatibility issue.
