U.S. unlocked Galaxy Note 9 Android 10 stable update a step closer as third One UI 2.0 beta rolls out

Nearly a month ago, Samsung started rolling out the first Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.0 beta update for the U.S. unlocked model. This came shortly after its Exynos counterpart received the second One UI 2.0 beta update.

Fast-forward to January 2020, the U.S. unlocked Galaxy Note 9 is now receiving the third One UI 2.0 beta update, which comes about two weeks since the previous beta 2 rolled out.

While this is happening, those using the Exynos variant of the Note 9 already picked up their stable Android 10 updates. The rollout started on the final day of last year and is still spreading to more regions, with India joining the party this week.

The Exynos model got up to five One UI 2.0 beta updates before receiving the stable version. But whether the U.S. unlocked Galaxy Note 9 Android 10 stable update will have to wait until after One UI 2.0 beta 5 arrives is anyone’s guess.

What we do know, though, is that the incoming Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.0 beta 3 update brings a bunch of bug fixes, performance optimizations and the latest security patch for January 2020.

Arriving as version ZSLF, the new OTA weighs in at about 222MB and bundles the following specific bug-fixes (strange wording here, Samsung):

– Front camera HDR capture failure after stride alignment changes.
– The photos of front camera occur error
– January 2020 security patch

The Galaxy Note 9 Android 10 beta 3 update is rolling out to the U.S. unlocked models registered into the beta program over the air. OTA updates can take days to reach all units, but since the number of units in the beta program is limited, this update shouldn’t take long to arrive.

As for when the stable version will roll out in the U.S., your guess is as good as ours, although previous reports have suggested March 2020 as the expected release date.
