New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 7, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi brought in the Redmi Note 8 Pro back in August 2019. The device is a decent mid-ranger that packs in features like Helio G90T chipset, 6/8 GB of RAM, a 6.53-inch display, 4,500 mAh battery.

In the camera department, it houses a quad-camera setup with 64 MP primary camera and also sports a fingerprint scanner at the back.

Moreover, the Redmi Note 8 Pro was served with the MIUI 11 update a couple of times in India. Previously, it bagged its first MIUI 11 update in the month of November with the October security patch.

Then, it was re-released with build V11.0.3.0.PGGINXM  and also tagged along the November security patchset. But, right after this update, several users in India started reporting issues of not receiving SMS or OTP along with some bugs in the proximity sensor.

In fact, we also have highlighted this issue in one of our reports. However, it seems like the issue has been finally acknowledged and a bugfix update has been rolled out for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Notably, the new update arrives with version number V11.0.4.0.PGGINXM and weighs in around 337 MB for this update. It brings the December 2019 security patchset along with the bug fix for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
