Jailbreaking isn’t alien to an iOS user. Even though one doesn’t have first-hand experience with the process, chances are slim not to have heard of it. When you want to break out of the OEM imposed restrictions on an iDevice, you need to step into this geeky procedure.

Post-jailbreak, a package manager comes handy in installing tweaks. While Cydia defies everything to top the list of popularity, there are Sileo and Zebra. Provided it’s always sensible to keep a backup option, thousands got their hands on them.

Zebra beta

For the last few years, Zebra had been in an evolution period. After a significant number of beta builds, the developer delivered a first release candidate update in mid-December last year. And, it was a step close to the real stable release.

Finally, the Zebra 1.0 stable is live now. Going by the official post on Reddit, it has gone through several stages of refinement to minimise the bugs that were present in the previous builds. Despite the stable version, 1.1 betas will still go live at the repo.

To recall, Sileo, when it had gone public for checkra1n jailbreak, needed users to remove Cydia for smooth functioning. Although there’re some workarounds, you need to spend more time and effort to tackle the situation. Fortunate for the users that Zebra brings no such limitation.

Nonetheless, you might encounter some minor hiccups along the way. And, the developer promised he would fix everything (if any) in the next update. Moreover, numerous features are going to come to the package manager from 1.1 and onward.

Although Zebra supports iOS 13, you can’t get it on checkra1n loader, at least for now. But yeah, we do see a chance for that to happen in the future. Meanwhile, you can join their Discord channel to take part in the related discussion.
