Xiaomi recruiting multiple device owners to test stable MIUI 11 updates & report bugs

Xiaomi discontinued its public global beta testing program that provided enthusiasts with early access to MIUI features the company was working on ahead of others.

The global beta program used to get weekly updates that to me were a bit pointless considering most brought about little to no improvements from the previous week. It would take two or three beta updates to notice any significant change, which is the interval I would advocate for.

As usual, not everyone was happy with the decision to end the global MIUI beta program. To keep this faction happy, Xiaomi is recruiting owners of multiple devices who would like early access to the stable MIUI 11 updates ahead of others.

The purpose of this program is much like the beta program, where Xiaomi wants to collect feedback from a few users about any major bugs in the new software.

In case of any, the MIUI 11 update won’t be pushed to the devices in question, instead, Xiaomi will have another look at the code and fix the bugs before pushing it to the masses in perfect condition.

Unfortunately, not every Xiaomi device is eligible for the program. The company has provided a limited list which we’ve shared below:

If you’ve already registered into a similar program, Xiaomi says there’s no need to submit another request. For those interested, fill out this form before 9PM (IST) on December 29, 2019.

Also, you are requested to join the official Telegram channel here before the said date, although joining the channel doesn’t guarantee your selection into the testing and bug reporting team. Check out the full announcement post here.

Xiaomi has already updated the devices in the list to MIUI 11, so this exercise is definitely not aimed at bringing over the stable MIUI 11 update. If anything, Xiaomi could be lining up the skin’s first incremental update.
