Samsung has been swifter than usual with Android 10 updates. The OS started rolling out to the global Galaxy S10 models in late November and over the recent past, the rollout has spread to more regions, including the U.S. and Canada.
The OS has also found its way to the Galaxy S10 5G on Verizon and even carrier models of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. As expected, the next in line are the U.S. unlocked variants of each handset, beginning with the Galaxy S10 family.
Since U.S. unlocked models are meant to work on all carriers, Samsung had to wait for carriers to align their services on carrier-locked models with Android 10 before giving the unlocked model the same treat.
As of this writing, the wait is over as reports on Reddit do confirm the stable Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 update has arrived for those on the U.S. unlocked models.
Even better is that it seems the initial rollout isn’t limited to those who took part in the beta program. But of course, beta testers will get a small OTA weighing in at 206MB while those coming from Pie will get an OTA weighing in at over 2GB.
Regardless of how you get the update, the Android 10-based firmware is arriving on the Galaxy S10e as version G970U1UEU2CSKP, on the standard S10 as version G973U1UEU2CSKP and on the Plus variant as version G975U1UEU2CSKP.
In addition to the many Android 10-inspired changes, you also get a flurry of others from Samsung’s One UI 2.0 alongside the latest December security patch. BTW, it’s not the most up-to-date security patch available now that the Galaxy S9 already picked up January 2020 patches.
