Xiaomi has been doing a stellar job at pushing out security and bug fix updates to its devices. This is a very positive move as one of Android’s biggest weakness has been the lack of periodic software updates.
To see these Chinese phone makers really pushing out updates is a welcome sight. Matter of fact, Xiaomi is rolling out a new system update for Mi 8 Lite. This update packs a number of system patches for this device.

One of the most hyped mid-range powerhouses for the year 2019, Redmi Note 8 Pro, is also getting a similar update.
The device breaks away from Xiaomi’s tradition, as the OEM opted to power this beast with a MediaTek chip as opposed to the usual mid-range Snapdragon we have seen in previous generations.
That notwithstanding, the Note 8 Pro is a gorgeous phone with a couple of shortcomings.
The update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro also comes to address a couple of issues that have bugged the phone’s users. The changes are described in the following changelog.
Lockscreen, status bar, Notification shade
– Fix: Couldn’t open notification settings in the Notification shade in Second spaceOther
– Fix: Images overlapped in scrolling screenshots
This update does not seek to add any new features like the MIUI 11 did over the MIUI 10, but tries to fix bugs present on the system. If the OTA update has not hit your device yet, you can use the link below to grab yourself the corresponding zip file for manual updating.

Bug fixes are important as they help iron out kinks and issues that might be affecting user experience. It is important that phone makers push these out as frequently as possible as a good user experience improves the brand perceptions.
FYI, Redmi Note 8 Pro received Android 10 via MIUI beta channel in China. There is, however, no specific release date of the global update.
Thanks Florin Matei for the screenshot of the update notification on Redmi Note 8 Pro!
