OnePlus 7/7 Pro Open Beta 7 update brings Chromatic effect in reading mode (Download links inside)

Before OnePlus had started off the journey with their first product, back in 2014, buying a flagship smartphone for $300 was not even in the wildest dreams of gadget enthusiasts. Still, the Shenzhen-based company made it possible and became the pioneer of mid-range flagships.

Fast forward to 2019, you need to shell out $860 to buy the latest offering (7T Pro McLaren Edition) from OnePlus. That’s around thrice the price tag OnePlus One bore! Of course, they have increased the features and aesthetics, even so, we can’t call their devices mid-range flagships now.

Not only did the pricing go up, but the frequency of launches as well. They unveiled OnePlus 7/7 Pro duo also this year (14 May 2019). In case it hasn’t pulled your attention, arrival of Android 10 to those devices was in deed a melodrama.

To recall, November patch came to the Open Beta channel three weeks ago. And, we have reported it setting foot on the stable units via OxygenOS 10.0.3 update too. Today, Open Beta 7 has gone live for OnePlus 7/7 Pro with significant entries in the changelog.

OnePlus 7

Going by the screenshots we gathered from the official community, the OTA measures 409 MB in size. Head over to the Software Update section from Settings and you may see it awaiting your permission. The users confirm it carry the same old November patch.

– Added an optimized charging feature to improve battery performance based on usage (Settings – Battery – Optimized charging)
– Optimized the RAM management
– Fixed the issue with auto-record toast messages in the contact app
– Fixed the wrong time format in the status bar
– Improved system stability and general bug fixes
Reading mode
– Added the Chromatic effect option to adapt color range and saturation intelligently for a better reading experience (Settings – Display – Reading mode Turn on reading mode – Chromatic effect)

OnePlus 7 Pro

Despite having the same changelog, the size varies a bit for the Pro version. Optimized charging and Chromatic effect for Reading Mode are two new features Open Beta 7 brings to the table. The OEM hasn’t officially announced the update yet.
