Samsung Galaxy S11+ could launch with 108MP ISOCELL Bright HM1 & under-screen selfie cameras

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S11 series in February 2020, probably a week ahead of the Mobile World Congress 2020 show in Catalonia.

As this D-Day fast approaches, we keep getting new stories about the devices that Samsung is cooking to succeed the Galaxy S10 family. A lot has already been said about them, be it the use of a custom 108MP sensor on the back camera or the significant bump in battery size.

It has also been claimed the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S11 will be sold in more regions than before and at some point, we even bumped into what was claimed as hands-on photos of the S11.

Not long ago, it emerged that Samsung also plans huge camera improvements besides the new 108MP sensor, with a pro video mode among the new features expected. The lens will use pixel binning to output reasonably-sized photos to minimize the amount of storage consumed.

Now, according to tipster Ice Universe – who has contributed a lot to this Galaxy S11 discussion, BTW – this 108MP main camera will be an ISOCELL Bright HM1 unit and not the recently announced Bright HMX 108MP sensor.

Apparently, the former is a way better lens that promises greatly improved night photography from the S11+.

Yesterday, Ice Universe also shared a couple of tweets with images depicting the design expected of the Galaxy S11 and S11+. The first pair of images are clearly indicated as so and you can see the photos below.

Looking at the images above, there is a small shift from the narrative that has been going on for weeks now – that the Galaxy S11 family will feature a Note 10-like selfie camera. If anything, the photos above suggest the S11 pair could come with an under-screen selfie shooter.

But later in the day, the same tipster shared another image with the caption “How much did you prepare for the next phone?” and even though he didn’t mention the phone in question, the accompanying photo is similar to recent 3D renders of the Galaxy S11+ and it’s smaller sibling.

At this point, it’s all confusion since all these are still rumors and not the final design that Samsung envisions the Galaxy S11. But as months turn into weeks and days, we should be able to know what indeed the phones will look like. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
