New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 13, 2019) follows:

Realme phones come with ColorOS, a heavily iOS-inspired skin originally designed by OPPO. However, they are competing fine against OEMs like Nokia in the domain of releasing periodic security updates.

For example, they delivered the December patch for Realme 1 and U1 a few days ago. Besides, their current flagship, i.e. Realme X2 Pro, already got Android 10-based ColorOS 7 update via beta channel.

With the rising comparison with OnePlus, the OEM is planning to ship a revised version of ColorOS in their phones starting from the upcoming Android 10 stable update. Dubbed as Realme UI, the public release of this skin is scheduled in 2020.

As our readers may speculate, newer phones will get the OTA at the beginning. The owners of Realme 2 Pro or Realme C2 have to wait at least six months to get the taste of Android 10 on their phones.

According to the roadmap, the update should land on Realme X units during February. The company, however, has decided to kickstart the event by launching the public beta recruitment.

The current affair is limited to Chinese users, but it should soon be available for the Indian / global audience as well. Interested people should fill this online form before December 22, 23:59. The quota is limited to 3,000 users at this moment.

Selected ones will be notified by SMS on December 24. Realme is planning to push the first beta build during the Christmas season – December 25/26.

PiunikaWeb readers should recall that we published an early glimpse of ColorOS 6.7 – an intermediate beta based on Android 10 – running on Realme XT.

Guess the first beta update for Realme X would be pretty much the same in terms of the UI, although we love to see some ‘unexpected’ improvements. The designers borrowed plenty of details from OxygenOS, which should please a majority of the consumers.

Powered by a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, Realme X also features premium features such as pop-up camera and under-display fingerprint scanner with a competitive price tag. The Android 10 update should further enhance the user experience. Stay tuned!

Update (January 11, 2020)

Similar to Realme X2 Pro, the latest Android 10 beta update for Realme X in China brings Realme UI. Details here.
