One of the reasons OnePlus has been swift to rise to the top of the smartphone charts is the sheer dedication it gives to the software aspect of its phones.

The company’s OxygenOS is perhaps the best custom skin you can find out there on any Android device. Heck, some even believe OxygemOS is way better than “stock” Android that runs on Pixel phones and Android One devices for that matter, but that’s a story for another day.

The software is as clean as you’d want it and where there is some customization, it happens to be very useful and thus worth it. To make the software even better, the company runs a continuous beta testing program it calls Open Beta.

Here, those who like living on the edge can always get new features weeks ahead of others. While some of these features may not be complete by the time they enter the Open Beta channel, having the opportunity to try them and provide useful feedback to fine-tune them is something many live for.

As if not enough, OnePlus also runs another channel meant for those who are after extreme bleeding edge changes way before they hit the Open Beta channel. Dubbed Closed Beta, the program is now open to owners of both OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.

According to OnePlus, the Closed Beta program is the closest group to OnePlus staff and is an opportunity for the company to listen to user feedback and refine or revise product strategy based on that.

Also, this program helps them find and address major bugs at an early stage in order to release more stable Open Beta and final builds.

As you can see from the screengrab above, you must sign an NDA once you are selected into the OnePlus 7T closed beta program to guarantee that you won’t leak out any of the things that go on in the program.

Apparently, the OnePlus 7T closed beta program will accommodate up to 250 members, making it the biggest group of OxygenOS closed beta testers yet.

Besides the requirement of owning an unlocked non-carrier OnePlus 7T or 7T Pro, you also must be an active OnePlus Community member who is also willing to constantly communicate and provide feedback to the OnePlus team on Slack. You can check out more details here.

Also, we have more OnePlus coverage here, so feel free to check it out.
