Samsung is currently testing Android 10-based One UI 2.0 on the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 devices. This is after the beta testing for Note 10 and S10 have hit their final stages towards stable release.
The beta program for Galaxy S9 started in late November. We first got wind of the second One UI 2 beta for Galaxy S9 sometime last week and true to Samsung’s fashion, they just delivered.
This ZSL3 update comes as the second beta build for Exynos Galaxy S9 units. FYI, the OTA requires the first beta, i.e. build ZSKD, that dropped a little while ago.
As the update is still tagged as beta, it is primarily made up of bug fixes.
Bug Fix
– Intermittent screen blackening after fingerprint lock screen is released
– Data leak due to GPS after OS update
– S Health step measurement error
– After updating, slow down to 1/10 hotspot speed phenomenon
– Reboot when running AnyDesk app
– No security folder pattern input
– Galaxy Buzz noise after update
– Clash royale game joins Mobile reboot when game starts-
– Sluggish issue due to memory leak
– Reboot every time VPN runs
– Sometimes no touch response when stopped
The changelog is directly translated from the official announcement made in Samsung Korea forum. The software update is only provided as a FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) for existing beta participants. This means that we might not see a download link of the full package.
To get the update, if you are on the beta channel, go to Settings → Software Update → Download and Install. If sideloading is your plan, see below:
- Galaxy S9: ZSKD to ZSL2
- Galaxy S9+: ZSKD to ZSL2

We still don’t know whether the Snapdragon model in the US is going to get the opportunity of beta testing anytime soon or not. As per Samsung, the stable update for Galaxy S9 should arrive by January, 2020.
