Google starts rolling out security updates to its Pixel phones on the first Monday of every month. Today marks day 6 into the month of December and day 5 since the latest December security patch started rolling out widely to multiple Google Pixel phones.

Interestingly, though, the search giant’s latest security patch still hasn’t hit a good number of Google Pixel users in various markets.

Sure, there is no doubt that monthly security updates from Google sometimes may delay, but this is usually by a day or two. But this month is proving to be reminiscent of what happened with the November security update, which also delayed to arrive on Pixel 4 phones.

A growing number of reports can confirm that the December security update has yet to be received by many Pixel owners. So far, we’ve seen reports from affected owners of Pixel 4, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 2 phones, but at least the delay for Pixel 4 units is known.

The issue isn’t limited to carrier-locked Pixels, but also unlocked models in markets like India, so the idea of carrier delays is neither here nor there.

Dozens of concerned Pixel owners have flocked multiple forums to vent their anger at the big G about the delayed December update despite it being around for nearly a week.

As usual, Google is taking its time to respond to this issue, so it’s hard to tell what may be causing it, but what’s seems strange is that the issue was seemingly limited to the Pixel 4 last time out, but this time multiple Pixel owners are experiencing the delay.

We will keep an eye on the developments and update this post if and when Google makes a statement. You may also let us know if your Pixel phone has already picked up the latest December update or not in the comments below.
