Walkman, the iconic brand name once associated with the stock music player app of earlier Sony (Ericsson) Android phones. However, the exponential rise of media streaming eventually suppressed offline music playing apps.
For example, streaming giant Spotify tied up with Samsung so that the app can be preinstalled on their phones.
The streaming business is a tough playground, but the Swedish provider has already established a huge fanbase across the globe. They even expanded their service in India a while ago.
Spotify is no stranger to weird and frustrating bugs, but this story has a unique angle altogether. Apparently the owners of Redmi Note 8 Pro are facing random freezing and crashing while using the Android app of this particular music streaming service.
Xiaomi decided to break the pattern, as the Chinese OEM opted for Mediatek Helio G90T SoC while designing the phone. The shift from usual Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset raised some eyebrows, although we are not sure whether it has anything to do with the issue we are discussing.
Anyone else hangs the Spotify app?
When I give the 3 spots of spotify to add songs to a playlist and so on, the app freezes. I tried to reinstall it and the problem persists. I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Just received Redmi note 8 pro, installed Spotify and when I press the 3 dots within any song or playlist Spotify freezes but keeps playing song then after about 20secs I get a notification saying “Spotify isn’t responding” I clear cache, deleted data and uninstalled and reinstalled.
App is installed on internal storage and not SD card.
Anyone else having this issue? Been happening about 1 week now.

The interweb is filled up with countless such reports, ranging from typical crashing to freezing while accessing the 3 dots menu. Matter of fact, similar bugs can be experienced on other devices as well, but the high volume of feedback from Redmi Note 8 Pro owners is making the situation quite distinct.
There is no official response from Xiaomi so far, but one moderator in Spotify community forum has acknowledged the glitch. They are currently maintaining a ticket marked as ongoing issue regarding the exact anomaly. An update should be available soon (no ETA given) to address the bug.
