New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 5, 2019) follows:
OnePlus has come a really long way. From the hyped OnePlus One back in 2014 to one of the most endeared Android brands we have today. The Chinese phone maker continues to flourish in the Android ecosystem and the launch of OnePlus TV only goes to show that the brand is here to stay.
The company is branching out and offering its users more value for money and feature addition in form of services. They are now offering the customers a new proposition that is very compelling.
OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro users can now get 50 GB of cloud space absolutely free. This storage is available for use by these phone owners for a whole year. Sounds old? Well, they actually introduced this feature with the October monthly update for the phone duo.
After claiming this free 50 GB, eligible users now have a total of 55 GB of cloud space (combined with the regular 5 GB). This storage is more than enough for most users and can accommodate most cloud storage needs. Oh, and the offer is limited to Indian customers only.
So what’s new in it? The main purpose for this cloud service is the upcoming OnePlus TV integration.
According to the recent mst announcement, this space can be used to connect to OnePlus TV for a swift sharing of files, allowing users to synchronize notes, contacts or even backing up documents. The potential possibilities are endless.
In the future, it will be used to connect to OnePlus TV for a swift sharing of files, while also allowing you to synchronize notes, contacts or even backing up your documents.
As at now, OnePlus Cloud Service already supports seamless synchronization of photos and videos so the expansion of this capacity only creates room for even more deeper integration with more products and platforms.
The free cloud storage can be claimed under Settings >> Cloud service. At the moment, this service is only available for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro users. However, it will soon be available on all OnePlus devices as from the OnePlus 6 onwards via upcoming software updates.
For those worried about the security of their data, OnePlus says that the Data stored in OnePlus Indian Cloud Service will be encrypted and stored locally.
This offer gives users 50 GB for a year. Upon expiry of the one-year validity of 50 GB cloud space, the uploaded files will not be deleted. Users can still browse and download their. However, you cannot upload any new files or documents to Space unless you renew or purchase additional storage.
OnePlus also says that it will offer users that want to continue with the 50 GB cloud storage a discount if they want to purchase the package upon expiry of their one year period.
This is a limited time offer and if you are the owner of OnePlus 7T/7T Pro, we suggest you jump on this as soon as you can. For further information, visit the official announcement thread.
