Honor Play is a popular device in many markets. The device offers a really good price-to-performance ratio with a solid Android experience. This is the very strategy that has propelled Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand to the heights it is at today.
To be humble, it is this kind of popularity that draws users to keep tabs on what else Honor has to offer.
The Kirin 970-powered phone was launched back in July 2018 and has been pretty well updated since. A few days ago, Honor rolled out the October patch to the Honor Play. Well, its time for the November patch!
Changelog:-
This Update Fixes an issues where performance slows down in certain scenarios.
[Security]
Integrates Google security patches released in November 2019 for improved system security.

Update notes:
1. This update will not erase your personal data, but we recommend that you back up any important data before updating.
2. If you encounter any issues during the update, please call the Huawei customer service hotline or visit a Huawei customer service center for assistance.
As with any over the air update, this is also a staggered rollout. This means, that even though the update might not be available to all Honor Play users, immediately, it soon will be.
According to a forum moderator, all Honor Play devices should be delivered the latest OTA tentatively by December 12, 2019. Honor also advises users to always keep their devices updated as these monthly updates do pack system improvement tweaks, even though the changelog might not mention them.
Android 10
What most Honor Play users really want to know about is Android 10 on their devices and not these monthly patches, however important they are. Sadly, as it stands, chances are that the Honor Play will not get updated to EMUI 10.
The skin is currently in active development and testing on a handful of Honor devices. For example, owners of Honor 10 Lite are getting the beta update in various countries, alongside Honor 20i in India. Safe to say, Android 10 is well on course for Huawei/Honor.
Despite being a capable device, we still don’t know whether Honor Play will qualify as the recipient of EMUI 10 in near future or not. In a recent event in China, Honor also unveiled a list of its devices set to receive the Android 10-based Magic UI 3.0. Guess what, Honor Play was not present anywhere!
Are they planning to exclude the Chinese variant, but will deliver the update to the global model? Perhaps the next lot of EMUI 10 rollout plan has the answer. Stay tuned!
We will keep an eye on the development of this story and we shall update accordingly if anything changes. Stay tuned to our dedicated Honor Section to stay updated on Honor Play and its eligibility for Android 10.
