Original story (published on November 28, 2019) follows:
Once a leading smartphone brand, HTC has now gone to the dust in the smartphone market. Users, as well as the tech-fraternity, have totally lost their interest in HTC smartphones.
Moreover, there aren’t any new products from the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, that demands our attention. But what might as a surprise to many (myself included!) that HTC has pushed in maintenance updates for two of its smartphones i.e. HTC U11 and U11+.
Notably, these updates are available for the users of U11 and U11+ in Taiwan. Let us take a look at the updates received on both the devices, one by one.
HTC U11
To recall, HTC U11 came out in June 2017 and packed in the-then top of the line specs like Snapdragon 835, 4/6 GB of RAM, a 3,000 mAh battery, a single 12 MP rear and 16 MP front camera.
Moreover, the device sports a 5.5-inch LCD display that packed in 1440 x 2560 pixels resolutions. The HTC U11 came with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner with fast charging support up to 18W.
Besides, we have reported back in September that the HTC U11 received the Android 9 Pie update. Now coming back to the maintenance update for the HTC U11, it arrives with the version number V3.30.709.2 and weighs in about 677.94 MB in size.
In fact, the update brings a lot of improvements like optimized battery performance, automatic brightness adjustment function, and some other system enhancements.
Below is the official changelog (translated from Chinese) along with the screenshot of the same:

HTC U11+
Launched in December 2017, the plus variant of HTC U11 i.e. HTC U11+ came with almost similar specs like Snapdragon 835, 4/6 GB of RAM, a single 12 MP rear camera.
However, the device differed in packing a 6-inch display and an 8 MP selfie shooter. The HTC U11+ also came with the fingerprint scanner on the back along with a larger 3,930 mAh battery.
Cut to now, the maintenance update for HTC U11+ arrives with the version number V2.20.709.2 and weighs in around 774.85 MB in size for the OTA update.
Thanks to the internal similarities between these two phones, the changelogs are virtually identical.
Note that the updates are being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units. However, you can go ahead and manually check for the updates by heading to Settings>>About>>Software updates.
Update 1 (December 17, 2019)
Owners of the HTC U11, U11+, and U12+ are receiving a new update that reportedly affects the Calendar app. It turns out that data available before installing the new update is missing.
Although HTC is aware of this issue, an official fix is yet to come up. However, there is a workaround available for this issue. You can read the whole story here.
