BREAKING: Xiaomi rolling out stable MIUI 11 update for Redmi Note 8 (Download links inside)

The 11th iteration of Xiaomi’s custom UI i.e. the MIUI 11 is on a roll and is being pushed by the OEM for quite a few devices till now. Keep in mind that the device does not require to be running on the latest Android OS for receiving the update.

Even, Mi Max 2 which is running on Nougat got the update. And one more device has been added to the list of devices that have been served the MIUI 11.

Reportedly, Redmi Note 8 (not the Pro version) is getting the MIUI 11 stable update with revised build in China. Matter of fact, the previous update with build V11.0.2.0.PCOCNXM that arrived a few days ago, was rolled back. 

Moreover, the global variant of the Redmi Note 8 is also being served with the stable update of MIUI 11. Let us take a look at both the Chinese as well as the Global update for Redmi Note 8, one by one.

Redmi Note 8 (Global variant)

The Redmi Note 8 which was launched in September 2019, is reportedly receiving the stable update with v11.0.3.0.PCOMIXM and weighs in around 677 MB in size for the OTA update.

Notably, the update brings in a lot of changes for the Redmi Note 8. Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update prompt:

– Auto brightness, screenshot gestures, and Reading mode can be turned off automatically when Game Turbo is on
– A major upgrade for the toolbox in Game Turbo: autoplay and switching between data SIM cards are available now

In fact, the update is still based on Android 9 Pie but, it would have been great if Xiaomi pushed in the Android 10 update along with the MIUI 11 stable update for Redmi Note 8.

Redmi Note 8 (Chinese variant)

Talking about the update received for the Chinese users, it arrives with the version number V11.0.3.0.PCOCNXM and weighs in about 1.91 GB in size for the update package file.

The update brings the same changes and follows the same changelog as the Chinese variant. You can wait for the OTA to arrive on your device or else you can head to the below download section for downloading the package file for manual installation:

Once you have downloaded the update from the above link, go to Settings>>About Phone>>System update>>press the MIUI version logo 10 times>> tap on the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select Choose update package. Locate the update package inside the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder of your internal storage and select the file to update manually.
