After weeks of testing, Huawei finally took the wraps off the stable EMUI 10 update based on Android 10 last week, with reports that the P30 and Mate 20 devices have already picked up their OTAs in Europe.
Huawei joins the likes of OnePlus, Nokia, Xiaomi, and Asus in rolling out the stable version of Android 10 following in the footsteps of Google and Essential devices that got the OS in early September.
Looking at this official EMUI 10 roadmap, more Huawei and Honor devices are expected to receive their EMUI 10 updates (beta or stable) in the coming weeks.
Among the recent devices to receive the beta update to EMUI 10 is the Honor 20i. Of course, the testing window could last weeks, but during this period, those in the stable channel should also receive some updates of their own.
One such update is already rolling out to the Honor 20i in India as EMUI version 9.1.0.272(C675E6R1P14). This update, which installs a new October security patch, comes about a month after the previous version that brought September patches rolled out to the device.
The incoming airborne Honor 20i software update weighs in at 111MB, which is the size you’d expect from an EMUI security update with no extra features to show off. But of course, the usual bug fixes and performance optimizations are included.
OTA updates can take several days before hitting all units. Granted, not all Honor 20i will receive their October security patches at the same time, so be patient as you wait for your turn.
