If you know Reddit only in a marginal sense, you’ll be surprised to learn that it’s actually one of the most visited websites in the world. In July 2019 alone, for instance, Reddit received close to 1.7 billion visitors, which is mindblowing.
Reddit is a web traffic powerhouse: in July 2019 almost 1.7 billion visits were measured to the online forum, making it one of the most-visited websites online.

Reddit got its first official Android and iOS apps in 2016, but before then, fans had to turn to third-party apps and they weren’t short of choice, including the likes of Boost for Reddit, Bacon Reader, and Relay for Reddit.
Since the official Reddit app arrived, it has been improving regularly through software updates that fix bugs and bring new features like interactive post previews and dark mode as well as fix annoying bugs to improve user experience.
In fact, a new update to version 3.40 is now rolling out to the Android version with a fix to one annoying issue that only writers of long periodic sentences are likely to come across.
With version 3.39 of the Reddit app on Android, a bug where the keyboard was overlapping the text field when writing long texts popped up, and as noted, you can only come across this if you do write long texts, otherwise, it’s easy to miss it. Apparently, iOS users are also affected.
Happens on iOS too. If you’re at the bottom of long message, good luck trying to return to a spot towards the top to change what you wrote. Almost lost my mind trying that last night.

To address this issue, Reddit for Android is receiving the update to version 3.40, which also has more than bug fixes and performance optimizations, as you can see in the screengrab below.
Even though the Reddit update to v3.40 fixes this bug, it hasn’t appeared on all Android devices yet, so some of us are still stuck on v3.39. As you wait for the update to v3.40 to arrive, there is a trick you can use to bypass this bug and continue writing your long sentences.
It’s an easy one. When the keyboard begins to overlap the text, hit the enter key multiple times until the text in the comment box moves up automatically, allowing you to scroll through the text area up and down to any part of the text.
At this moment, it’s unclear how long iOS users will have to wait before the bug-fixing update arrives, but it shouldn’t be long.
