Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact were unveiled in February 2018 powered by Android Oreo and later in July, the Xperia XZ2 Premium was also launched running the same OS out of the box.

At such a time last year, the standard and compact variants had just started receiving their first major OS update to Android Pie, with the Premium model linking up with them a month later.

The three phones are expected to get their second and last major OS update to Android 10 anytime now. Some thought the November patch would be bundled in the new OS upgrade after missing out with the October patch, but no, the wait goes on.

If you own any of the Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, and Xperia XZ2 Premium, a new update is rolling out for your device with the most up to date security patch. The software version is 52.0.A.11.32.

The update weighs in at about 185MB and is arriving over the air, meaning some units in the XZ2 family will get the OTA download notification ahead of others.

Even if Sony were to begin rolling out the update to Android 10, its unlikely that the Xperia XZ2 series will get the nod ahead of the newer Xperia XZ3. Unveiled in October 2018, this will be the device’s first OS update having debuted with Android Pie out of the box.

Naturally, it will be ahead in the pecking order, but like the XZ2 trio, Xperia XZ3 owners will have to make do with the new November security patch for now as the wait for Android 10 goes on.

The software version for the Xperia XZ3 November security update is 52.0.A.11.32, same as XZ2 lineup. A Redditor has confirmed that the OTA is indeed rolling out.

Also rolling out for my XZ3. Does that mean no android 10 this month?

A techy. Besides phones, I also enjoy the farm, music, football, and, of course, food.
