Xiaomi has shifted gears in pushing the 11th iteration of their customized skin, MIUI. Note that, in the recent past, a lot of Xiaomi devices have been served with the MIUI 11 updates in various regions.

The list of devices that have already received the MIUI 11 is continuously growing and in a recent development, two more devices i.e. Xiaomi Mi MIX and Mi Max 2 is reportedly receiving the latest MIUI update.

Note that the update is being pushed globally and if you own a Mi MIX or a Mi Max 2 device then you can experience the most refined MIUI user interface on your device right away.

What is more surprising is that the update for Mi Max 2 is still based on Android Nougat – not even on Oreo. FYI, this is the only Mi Max device that has not got a single major Android version update. Let us take a look at the updates one by one.

Mi Max 2

As pointed above, the latest MIUI 11 update is based on Android Nougat and carries the version number V11.0.2.0.NDDMIXM and weighs in about 532 MB in size for the OTA update.

This new update brings in all the goodies and new features of the latest MIUI 11 for Mi Max 2. Note that the update is being pushed globally via OTA and will take some time in hitting all the units.

Mi MIX

Another Xiaomi device i.e. the Mi MIX (2016) is ticked off from the list of devices that have been served with MIUI 11 update. This new update carries version number V11.0.2.0.OAHMIXM and weighs in about 1.49 GB in size for the update package file.

Talking about the changelog, it differs slightly than the one received for the Mi Max 2. You can check out the additional changes from the official changelog below:

– New: Continuous swiping opens an additional menu in Game Turbo now
– New: You can create a Home screen shortcut for Game Turbo now
– Fix: Hands-free call duration wasn’t displayed correctly in Game Turbo

Once you have downloaded the update from the above link, go to Settings>>About Phone>>System update>>press the MIUI version logo 10 times>> tap on the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select Choose update package.

Locate the update package inside the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder of your internal storage and select the file to update manually. Happy installing!
