Huawei, the Chinese smartphone giant, is always bringing in new and exciting products into the smartphone market. This year can be touted as the re-birth of foldable smartphones.
And Huawei along with Samsung introduced their iteration of the same. Samsung brought in the Galaxy Fold which soon fell prey to the “broken-screen” fiasco and was re-introduced again.
On the other hand, Huawei unveiled the Mate X which is due to launch this later this year. In between, the company also introduced its Mate 30 series family that came without any of the Google services i.e. without any pre-installed Google apps.
Besides, the company is pretty occupied in preparing the EMUI 10 updates for its devices which is based on Android 10. Huawei recently shared a new timeline for the EMUI 10 rollout.
Fast forward to now, the company has pushed in October security update for the Huawei P20 Pro. The update is based on EMUI 9.1.0.351 and brings in fixes for some critical bugs.
To recall, the Huawei P20 Pro was launched in 2018 and features specs like Kirin 970, offers 6/8 GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery with 22W fast charging support, up to 256 GB of internal storage.
The device is also IP67 dust/water-resistant and sports a 6.1-inch OLED display with a triple 40 MP+8 MP+20 MP camera setup at the back. In the front, you get a 24 MP selfie shooter.
Below is the official changelog along with the screenshot of this new update:
Changelog:
-This update improves system security with Android security patches.[Security]
-Integrates Android security patches released in October 2019 for improved system security.
Moreover, according to one user on XDA, this new update also brings in a fix for an issue where the same system software update would repeatedly be received.
This new update is live in the Huawei update servers, and should be pushed via gradual OTA. Though you can always manually check for it by heading to Apps > System > Software update. Tap the Check for Update.
Not only this, the Android 10 based EMUI 10 beta recruitment is now live for Huawei P20 Pro users outside China. Notably, the early bird program is currently limited to Europe.
Matter of fact, Chinese users of the Huawei P20 Pro, P20, and Mate RS Porsche Design have already received a similar EMUI 10 registration window back in mid-October.
Let us know in the comments whether you were able to get yourself registered for the EMUI 10 beta update or not.
