Xiaomi is continuing its phenomenal run at the smartphone market in the Q3 of 2019. Be it the delivery of latest MIUI 11 or coming up with futuristic Mi MIX Alpha, they are surely trying to leave no stones unturned.

Moreover, according to a report by Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi continued its top position in the Indian smartphone market for Q3 2019. The Chinese smartphone giant recorded its highest ever shipments with a 26% share.

Thanks to the company’s decent offerings like Redmi 7A, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S, Xiaomi grew its shipments by 7% YoY. this is a remarkable feat to achieve considering the tough competition in today’s smartphone market.

And in a recent development, there is an addition of two more devices in the list of devices receiving MIUI 11 update i.e. the Redmi 6 Pro and Mi 9T (sold as Redmi K20 in India and China).

Notably, the Redmi 6 Pro is getting the update in India and the Mi 9T is receiving it globally. Let us take a look at the updates one by one.

Redmi 6 Pro

Xiaomi released the ‘Pro’ variant of Redmi 6 back in 2018. FYI, Mi A2 Lite, the Android One phone is actually a rebranded Redmi 6 Pro. This device packs in some decent mid-range specs like Snapdragon 625 with 4/6 GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery, dual camera setup at the back, etc.

Coming to the MIUI 11 update which is now live for Indian users, it carries version number V11.0.3.0.PDMMIXM and weighs in about 534 MB in size for the OTA update.

It packs in all the goodies of MIUI 11 like sounds of nature, new UI design, enhanced casting, new shortcuts and more. Below is the complete changelog of the update:

Notably, the Redmi 6 Pro got the same MIUI 11 update for the Chinese variants a few days back. Though for Android 10, the users have to wait a bit longer.

Mi 9T

The MIUI 11 update is also now live for Xiaomi Mi 9T aka Redmi K20, globally. In fact, the device received the MIUI 11 update in Europe and India back in late October.

The new update carries the version number V11.0.1.0.PFJMIXM and weighs in about 779 MB.

It also carries all the new features included with the MIUI 11 and shares the same changelog as the other regional variants. Below is the screenshot of the update:

The update is based on still based on Android 9 Pie however, Android 10 is available for China variant via beta channel. On the other hand, the global variant of Mi 9T Pro is yet to receive the MIUI 11 update. Interesting, isn’t it?

Once you have downloaded the update from the above link, go to Settings>>About Phone>>System update>>press the MIUI version logo 10 times>> tap on the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select Choose update package.

Locate the update package inside the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder of your internal storage and select the file to update manually. Happy installing!
