It is early November which means that the October Android security patch is already available and OEMs are now pushing it to their devices. More and more devices from different OEMs are getting this update, even through various wireless carriers.
Today, the October 2019 Security Patch is available for Android Go powered Nokia 1 Plus and the Nokia 4.2 (Android One). The update for the Nokia 1 Plus is a sizeable 844.5 MB. However, the changelog is rather generic for a monthly security update.

How to Update
If you own any of the above-mentioned smartphones, you can manually check whether your device has received the updates in your region or not by heading to Settings>> System Updates>> Check for updates. Some of you may have to wait more than others as incremental updates are rolled out in batches and take some time to reach all devices.
There is a looming question among Nokia users about which one of their devices will be getting Android 10. Nokia reacted to this in a statement from Chief Product Officer of HMD Global. He said:
Nokia smartphones were the first whole portfolio to benefit from a 2-letter upgrade from Android Nougat to Android Oreo and then Android Pie. We were the fastest manufacturer to upgrade from Android Oreo to Android Pie across the range.
With today’s roll-out plan, we look set to do it even faster for Android Pie to Android 10 upgrades. We are the only manufacturer 100% committed to having the latest Android across the entire portfolio.
So, users of the Nokia smartphone can expect to get their hands on the latest Android OS launched by Google i.e. the Android 10, starting from Q4 of 2019.
