T-Mobile OnePlus 6T starts receiving October patch ahead of Android 10 update

OnePlus is one of those OEMs who bring the updates way faster compared to other players in this game. Take note that it runs on the near-stock OxygenOS, which might be the reason for such speedy delivery.

Shifting back a little, OnePlus pushed the August Security update for unlocked OnePlus 7 Pro even faster than the Google Pixel devices. The company’s phone launch cycle is also somewhat a bit fast-paced, as the OEM recently brought in the OnePlus 7T Pro with little-to-no-changes over the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Yes, the OnePlus 7T Pro gets Snapdragon 855+, a macro-lens at the rear, a small increase in the battery, but that’s about it. However, if we go by the track record of OnePlus, the company brings these T-variants of the devices to improve the already great flagships (in this case, the OnePlus 7 Pro).

Nevertheless, the Shenzhen based smartphone maker is also known for its caring attitude towards the previous generation models as it pushes a lot of new features from the newer models to the older ones.

Not only this, but firmware updates are also pushed to older models. And in a recent development, U.S. carrier T-Mobile has rolled out the October 2019 security updates for its OnePlus 6T.

This new update on the T-Mobile OnePlus 6T bumps the security patch level from August 2019 to October 2019. It carries the version number A6013_34_191016 and weighs in about 222.4 MB in size.

The update is arriving via OTA and will take some time to reach all the devices. However, you can manually check by heading to Settings>>System updates>>Check for updates if you have yet received the notification.

Moreover, people who are wondering about the Android 10 update for OnePlus 6T might have to wait for a little as T-Mobile and OnePlus are working for it.

Notably, the regular model of OnePlus 6T has already got the Android 10 via Open Beta update. Matter of fact, a second update was made available in China that introduced some major fixes.

Hopefully, the carrier variant of OnePlus 6T will bypass the initial glitches, and eventually get the stable OxygenOS 10 built on the foundation of Android 10.
