Good news if you own a Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone, as the devices are reportedly getting Android 10 based MIUI 11 build via stable OTA. Xiaomi has been making some efforts in pushing the MIUI 11 based updates for its smartphones.
And the recent one to join the list is none other than the Mi 9. To recall, it was launched in March 2019 and packs in the Snapdragon 855 paired with 6/8 GB of RAM and offers 64/128 GB of onboard storage.
Under the hood, it is powered by the 3,300 mAh battery and also has a triple 48+12+16 MP camera setup at the rear. In the front, you get a 6.39-inch display with a notch that houses a 20 MP selfie shooter.
Matter of fact, the Mi 9 got the Android 10 based update in China in August that brought along all the cool new goodies of Android 10 to the device. However, the device was based on MIUI 10 at that time.
Moreover, Xiaomi has also been the victim of accidental leaks or misplaced information as the company pushed the MIUI 11 for Mi MIX 2S, Mi 6 and Redmi K20 Pro “accidentally”. Besides, the update was beta builds and the changelog did mention the MIUI 11 with some major changes.
The interesting things do not end here, as the MIUI 11 closed beta was also rolled out for the Mi 9 in the previous month. However, there was a catch, as the facility was not applicable to devices outside China.
It is hard to understand whether Xiaomi really fell prey to such accidents or it was a marketing gimmick to create hype around the MIUI 11. Now coming to the stable OTA for Mi 9 it brings in the MIUI version number V11.0.2.0.QFACNXM (again, Chinese units only!).
The update weighs in around whooping 2.4 GB in size so, it would be better if you use a stable or speedy internet connection to download the update.
Below is the screenshot of the update:
Note that the update is rolled out via OTA and will take some time in reaching the devices. However, if you do not want to wait for the update and sideload the update package from the download section below:
