[New build] Xiaomi Mi A2 & Mi A2 Lite getting October security patches, still no Android 10

Xiaomi support recently hinted at the imminent arrival of the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update, suggesting that the OS would be ready to roll out in the first week of October.

We are already past mid-month and nothing yet. Not even for the standard Mi A2 or even the newer Mi A3, which has also been promised to receive the update to Android 10 later this month.

Well, going by what the Mi support said – that the Mi A3 Android 10 update will be part of October security update yet the device has already received the new patch sans the OS upgrade – it’s safe to assume that the wait for Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Android 10 updates is still on.

To keep the devices in the right frame until the new OS upgrade arrives, Xiaomi is now rolling out the latest security patches to both the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite across the globe, exactly a month after the previous updates arrived.

The former’s update is arriving as software version V10.0.15.0.PDIMIXM, up from last month’s version V10.0.14.0.PDIMIXM while the latter is switching from version V10.0.14.0.PDLMIXM to version V10.0.15.0.PDLMIXM.

We still haven’t bumped into actual recipients of the OTA update, but with the firmware having popped up and already out there, it shouldn’t be long before such reports start showing up.

For those who can’t wait for the OTA to arrive, we have the links to download the two ROMs and install manually on the respective device, but be sure you have enough data since the files are full ROMs (over 1GB) and not the OTAs (99MB for the Mi A2 and 65MB for the Mi A2 Lite).
