Razer Phone made some headlines due to its game-centric beastly specs. The design of the Razer Phone was a bit too old generation considering the other OEMs were opting for a bezel-less design back in 2017.

However, you cannot blame the Razer Phone for its design as it was made especially for gamers and on that note, it looked rugged and gave you a feel of a gaming device.

Cut to 2018, Razer brought in its successor, the Razer Phone 2 that again brought in the same huge forehead and chin on the front (exactly like the 1st gen Razer Phone) but this time around it all-glass body.

For a refresher, the Razer Phone 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It sports a 5.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

You get a dual-camera 12MP+12MP sensor at the back and a single 8MP camera at the front. The Razer Phone 2 has a battery capacity of 4000 mAh and houses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Now, looking at the specs, the device was way ahead when it comes to having the 120Hz refresh rate. Even in 2019, it has become one of the most important features to have on a device.

In a recent development, Razer Phone 2 is reportedly receiving the September 2019 security update along with some enhancements and new features.

The new update weighs in around 548.3MB in size and brings in features like improved WiFi and camera stability, Family link support, etc along with the September update.

Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update:

One of the important features is the Family Link. For the naive, the Family Link is a parental lock app the helps parents control the Android devices of their children by blocking access to adult websites and manage all registered devices.

Parents can also keep a track of the screen time children spend on their devices and moreover, control it remotely. It is a nice feature to have in today’s digital age. However, there is no sign of an Android 10 update for the device yet.

Note that the update has been rolled out via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the devices. However, you can check for the update by heading to Settings>>System>>About Phone>>Check for updates.

If you want to install the update on your device right away then, you can download the update package on your device from the below section:
