New updates are being added at the bottom of this story……
Original story (published on October 11, 2019) follows:
Earlier this week, Samsung revealed that the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 beta update would be pushed to those in Korea very soon. Not long after, a similar announcement was made with respect to the global and American markets.
By now you probably know that the One UI 2.0 update is based on Android 10, the latest and greatest Android OS from Google. It might be arriving weeks after Google released the update, but based on early previews of what’s in store, the wait might as well be worth it.
While Samsung didn’t provide any specific dates of rolling out the new Android 10 beta, some Galaxy S10 units started picking up the One UI 2.0 update in Europe yesterday. Folks at PhoneArena even managed to download and install the new OS on an S10+ unit for the Bulgarian market.
The software arrived as version G975FXXU3ZSJ6 and weighed in at about 1.9GB. The changelog, as expected, is huge and it includes things like full-screen gestures, new ways to access one-handed mode, digital wellbeing, improved privacy, and so on.
The update, like the most recent version that went out to the models still running the Pie-based stable version, the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 beta update came with October security patches on board.
Lucky you (assuming the first beta is less buggy) if you had already grabbed the One UI 2.0 beta update on your Galaxy S10 unit because reports coming in reveal that Samsung has now delayed the rollout of Android 10.
According to Samsung-centric publication SamMobile, the company has elected to delay the rollout for unknown reasons. Also, a new release date hasn’t been provided.
If anything, it seems Samsung devs found a bug that needed to be addressed before the wider rollout of the beta build. It’s worth noting that the halted Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 update rollout might be specific to Korea since the communication originated from Samsung’s home country.
We will be keeping an eye on this development and update this story. So that you don’t miss out on this update and other Samsung-related stories, be sure to tune in to our Samsung-centric section.
Update 1 (October 14)
Samsung has officially announced the onset of One UI 2.0 beta program that brings Android 10 to the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10+ to various markets across the globe.
To join the program, you must first register via the Samsung Members app by tapping the One UI 2.0 beta program banner in the app, after which you should receive an OTA update to Android 10 beta.
Update 2 (October 17)
Folks in the U.S., Germany and South Korea were the first to get going with the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 beta program, but more regions will soon be joining the party, namely France, Poland, Spain, the UK, India, and China.
In fact, select Galaxy S10 users in India can already grab the new OS and install it right away, but the program should be opened to more participants in the coming days or weeks for that matter.
