Xiaomi has released the latest Android 10 update for the year-old Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S handsets as beta builds.

Unlike their newer counterparts that took part in the early Android Q beta testing, this is the first official taste of Android 10 for the 2018 handsets, but of course, we are looking at the Chinese variants of the two phones.

The incoming Xiaomi Android 10 update is hot on the heels of the duo’s updates to stable MIUI 11. The latest and greatest from Xiaomi started rolling out this week and has so far hit several units in the home nation.

The likes of Xiaomi Mi 9T aka Redmi K20 and Redmi 7 were the first to make the cut and have since been followed by the aforementioned Mi 8 and Mi MIX 2S as well as the Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Lite, and Mi Max 3.

The newly launched Mi 8 and Mi MIX 2S updates take the game to a whole new level for owners of these two by bumping the base OS from the stable MIUI 11’s Android Pie to the latest and greatest from Google – Android 10.

As noted, the now-available Xiaomi Android 10 update for the Mi 8 and Mi MIX 2S is for the Chinese market. The beta builds carry the same software version 9.10.10. It’s likely that only those with a verified Xiaomi beta testing account will be able to install Android 10 on their units.

Granted, Android 10 beta should be easily available to download and install on your Mi 8 or Mi MIX 2S at least for those who already have the previous beta 9.9.3 on board. Alternatively, we have the download links to the two devices’ respective Android 10 beta ROMs for manual installation.
