In today’s competitive smartphone market, Realme has surely made its mark, all thanks to its featureful devices. Almost all devices pack in powerful specs at a very decent price.
Moreover, Realme is continuously adding a new range of smartphones that serve different buyer segments. Realme seems to be on the right track, as according to a report by CMR MICI survey, Realme was placed in the first position in terms of lowest return rates for any smartphone brand.
For those naive, lowest return rates are measured by the customer’s first visit to a service center within the first 6 months of purchase, for both online and offline buyers. This is quite an interesting feat for a company that is new and is trying to get a grip on the smartphone market.
Besides, the company also has quite a decent track record in pushing out security and firmware updates. In a recent development, Realme has rolled out the October 2019 security patch for the Realme 2 and Realme C1 devices. Here’s the announcement for the October patch:

The new OTA for the month of October is hitting both devices!
The update for Realme C1 and Realme 2 carries version number RMX1805EX_11.A.61 and brings in quite a few improvements and enhancements along with the latest security patch. Below is the official changelog:

Known issues fixed
- Fixed the issue that the USB pop-up window cannot be popped
- Fixed part of scenes with slow screen brightness issue
- Fixed the Wi-Fi connection issue
- Fixed some applications crash issue
- Fixed some of the system stuck issue
Notably, this new update also brings in the popular, Digital Wellbeing feature that allows the user to track their digital habits and disconnect from digital life whenever they want to.
Probably, this is one of those features that should have been included previously in all smartphones. But as they say, better late than never. Since the feature gained popularity, many OEMs are including Digital Wellbeing in their smartphones via updates.
Note the update on both the devices is rolled out via OTA in batches and will take some time in reaching all of the devices. However, you can always check for the update manually by heading to Settings>> Software Updates>> Check for new updates.
