The tablet market is not that exciting as the smartphone market. We see very little innovation and fewer devices being launched every year. However, companies like Samsung, Huawei, Apple, etc are trying their best in keeping the tablet market’s sail, afloat.
One name that is at the top of the list in the tablet market after Apple is Samsung. The reason for their stay in this perishing tablet market is because it brings in new features and innovation in their Galaxy Tabs.
According to a report by IDC Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker, the global tablet shipments have declined by 5% but Samsung was able to grow its market share owning to good performance of E and A series tablets.
Besides, the company is on a roll in pushing out security updates for its Galaxy devices. And keeping the pace steady, Samsung has pushed the October security update for the Galaxy Tab S4 tablet. For a quick recap, the Galaxy Tab S4 was launched in 2018.
But, one thing to note is that the new October update is available for LTE models in select regions i.e. Panama, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Chile, and Peru. However, the update is likely to get rolled out for other regions and the WiFi variants as well.
The new update for the Galaxy Tab S4 carries the build number T835UBS3BSI4 and is based on the Android 9 Pie. Moreover, it carries the security patch level 2019-10-01.

With this new October security patch, a severe vulnerability has been fixed that has affected other Galaxy smartphones. And further, it brings in some bug fixes and improvements as well.
Talking about updates, the recently launched Galaxy Tab S6 is also receiving a new update but, it carries the old September security patch. It carries the version number T865XXU1ASJ1. Note that the update is available for users in Germany, Canada, Korea, and for the Cellular South users in the USA.
However, the update tracker for Canada and LTE variants are yet to be updated on the official tracking website. A few days back, we have reported that the September update is hitting the Galaxy Tab S6 device.

You can also wait for the OTA to arrive on your device but, note that it will take some time to reach all the devices. You can check for it manually by heading to Settings>>Software Update>>Download and Install.
