Unlike Apple – that lowered prices of iPhone 11 series (compared to its predecessors) – what’s coming to light regarding Google’e upcoming Pixel 4 devices is pretty much a disappointing leak, considering it states something opposite to the earlier leaks that suggested a price drop.
The OEM may supposedly hike the prices of Pixel 4/4 XL comparison to its predecessor Pixel 3/3 XL.
Leakster Evan Blass suggests, Google is planning on launching the Pixel 4 in Canada at a price of CAD 1049.95. Pixel 4 XL would cost a heftier CAD 1199.95 for the 64 GB variant. In addition, the 128 GB variant may be priced more aggressively with Pixel 4 costing CAD 1199.95 and Pixel 4 XL at CAD 1359.95.
Taking a look at the Specs Sheet, from what comes out from rumors and teasers is that Google Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL might be launching with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, FHD and Quad-HD 90 Hz ‘Smooth Display’ Amoled screens, 6 GB ram with a 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.
Google has officially notified that both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will feature motion sense (see here which countries will support the feature). Another leak conveyed the devices will indeed have ‘Pixel Neural Core,’ unlike Pixel 3/3 XL that made use of ‘Pixel Visual Core’ for spectacular images.
Last year, during the launch of Pixel 3/3 XL in Canada, they were priced at CAD 999 and CAD 1129. If we are to go by the leaks, Pixel 4/4 XL will see a considerable rise in the price segment. But, what do we make out of this for the price in Europe and US market?
The Prices of the Europe and US markets haven’t been leaked as yet. But, following history, Google devices’ Canadian prices have been $40 – $50 cheaper than US price when converted directly. Which would make the Pixel 4 64 GB to cost $829, while the 128 GB variant to cost $949.
The same theory when applied in terms of Pixel 4 XL, would make the 64 GB variant available for $949 and the 128 GB variant for $1059.
To calculate the price segment in the Europe markets for the devices is quite a complex process, as different markets have different tax slabs. But, the Pixel 4 might retail on €879 and €999 for 64 GB and 128 GB and the Pixel 4 XL should retail on €999 and €1109 in Europe.
It goes without saying, these prices are based on leaks and speculations, we cannot be sure about the above mentioned unless Google announces officially.
