Xiaomi is rolling out new software updates to the Redmi Note 8 in China and the Mi CC9 in multiple markets across the globe with a bunch of new features, bug fixes, and performance optimizations.
The Redmi Note 8, as you may already know, is the immediate successor to the Redmi Note 7 that has had an excellent run of sales in various markets across the globe, more so India.
So good was the Redmi Note 7’s sales performance that Xiaomi pumped multiple variants of the device into the market, among them Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Still, this didn’t stop the company from following up the Redmi Note 7 series with successors a few months into their release.
As of this writing, though, the Redmi Note 8 has yet to start selling in most global markets. This also applies to its superior counterpart, the Redmi Note 8 Pro, but of course, this doesn’t mean the Chinese variant hasn’t found its way to other markets outside Redmi’s home country.
If you happen to have gotten your hands on the Chinese Redmi Note 8, there is a new software update arriving as MIUI 10.3.6.0.PCOCNXM. The OTA weighs in at 192MB and while it doesn’t bring about any new features, it fixes the annoying errors in the framework that led to system crashes.
The OTA may take some time to hit all units, but we do have the download link that you can use to grab the new MIUI 10.3.6 update and install it manually on your Redmi Note 8 unit.

For those who purchased Xiaomi Mi CC9 in Europe (EEA) and Russia, there is also something for you. FYI, the Mi CC9 is the same device that sells in other markets as Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite and recently got its first update to MIUI 10.3.1.
Strange enough, the EEA model is receiving two software updates. The first one is arriving as MIUI 10.3.5.0.PFCEUXM and brings a bunch of new features, optimizations and bug fixes to the device, as seen in the changelog below.
Phone
Optimization: Audio quality for calls
Camera
New: Hairline-related Beautify features for the front camera
Removed: Cheekbone-related Beautify features for the front camera

The second update, on the other hand, is arriving as MIUI 10.3.6.0.PFCEUXM. Looking at the change in the software version, it seems this update is here as a hotfix with optimized system performance and improved system security and stability.
For those using the Russian model of the Mi CC9, the new update is arriving as MIUI 10.3.1.0.PFCRUXM. Below is the changelog as provided by Xiaomi:
