Asus is a known brand when it comes to computers. The Taiwanese company unveiled the Zenfone smartphone series in 2014. The devices were launched with the Android operating system with ZenUI on top.

For a refresher, it was the Zenfone 4 that was the first device that was launched under the Zenfone series. And this was the beginning of a nice and quiet journey in the smartphone world.

Asus does have some decent devices under their portfolio and not to forget their innovative Asus Zenfone 6, that has a rotating camera module which acts as the front as well as the back camera.

Moreover, there is some happy news for the Asus smartphone brand, as according to a report by Counterpoint Research, the overall online Channel’s smartphone shipment in India, grew by 26% YoY in Q2 2019. What’s more interesting is that Asus, along with other (Realme, Oppo and Vivo) was named the fastest growing brands in the online segment.

This is a pretty nice feat considering the fact that there is fierce competition in the smartphone market here in India. However, when it comes to rolling out updates, Asus is still lagging behind the likes of Nokia, OnePlus and other.

Interestingly, Asus has pushed the latest security patch update for its Asus Zenfone Max M1 device. The latest update brings in the September 2019 security update to the device. But, there is nothing new except the security patch.

Note that the update has been rolled out officially via OTA in batches and will take some time in reaching all of the devices. However, you can always go ahead and check for the updates manually by heading to Apps>>Settings>>About>>System Update>>Check Update. If there is any notification regarding the new update, tap on it to install the latest update for your device.

What’s more interesting is that the Asus Zenfone Max M1 still runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo and there are no signs of the official and stable version of the Android 9 Pie.

Previously we came up with the information regarding the Android 9 Pie Beta for the Asus Zenfone Max M1 smartphone and also included the download links. You can check out the full story here.

Other OEMs are already gearing up for rolling out the Android 10 updates for their smartphones and still, there is no clear pathway for the Asus devices. In light of this, we also reported previously that the Asus Zenfone 5z was allegedly getting the Android 10 beta updates. Another device that is reported to get the Android 10 update is the Asus Zenfone 6.

We will keep you in the loop once we have more information regarding the Android 10 updates for the Asus Zenfone devices.
