At last, the day is here! Xiaomi officially unveiled the 5G refresh of Mi 9, namely Mi 9 Pro 5G. Moreover, the futuristics concept phone, Mi MIX Alpha, made a jaw-dropping appearance with more than 180% screen to body ratio! Cherry on top, the improved Mi TV lineup.
Both of these phones come with MIUI 11 out of the box. Worry not, as Xiaomi also launched the eleventh generation of their in-house Android skin in this event as hinted earlier. An open beta release is around the corner (September 27), while stable release of MIUI 11 is scheduled during October for most of the Mi/Redmi phones.
A closed beta, on the other hand, is already live. The participation method is little bit quirky, but remember when some of those restricted builds made their way to regular users? Yes, I’m talking about all those watermarked internal software updates.
Well, apparently the regular Mi 9 (and probably some other phones too) is getting the ‘true’ MIUI 11 as closed beta. The corresponding version is 9.9.24 and the OTA weighs a whopping 2.4 GB.
The complete changelog is ridiculously long; it would be better to visit the official website of MIUI to know about the improvements and new features in a more sophisticated manner.
Nevertheless, we have our hands on the full firmware so that Mi 9 owners across the world can taste the goodness of MIUI 11.
