HMD Global’s Nokia smartphone brand has come a long way since getting almost perished to steadily cementing its base in the Android smartphone market. Nokia has not only revived its position in today’s competitive smartphone world but also is trying everything in their might to become successful yet again like they used to dominate previously.
Let us talk about some numbers as Nokia has been put in the top spot when it comes to rolling out security and firmware update for all of its smartphones.
According to a research report from Counterpoint Research, Nokia has taken a big lead and has been ranked No.1 in the list of time taken by top 10 by top 10 manufacturers to upgrade their portfolios to the latest Android version.
This is an incredible feat for the Nokia brand and HMD Global as a whole, as according to the data, almost all the smartphones sold after Q3 2018 are already running on the Android 9 Pie OS. Other OEMs are finding it very difficult to even roll out monthly security updates and then there is Nokia which is marching ahead in pushing out updates.
Covering another device, recently, Nokia rolled out the latest September 2019 security update for the Nokia 2.1 smartphone. However, there is nothing more with this update apart from the security patch.
Talking about the update, it weighs around 92.3MB which is quite small as compared to updates received on other devices and will not be too heavy on your mobile data connection. It carries the internal version number Nokia/Dynamo2_00WW/E2M:9/PKQ1.181105.001/00WW_1_13G:user/release-keys.

Note that the update is being rolled out via OTA, which is often rolled out in batches. So, it might take some time for this update to hit your devices. However, you can always check it manually by heading to Settings>>About Phone>>System Updates>>Check for updates.
