Motorola has a long way to go if it wants to cement its place in the hearts of smartphone users. Lately, Motorola which is owned by Lenovo is trying hard to bring in new smartphones to retain its position in the budget and mid-range segment, which has been occupied by Chinese competitors.
With the likes of Xiaomi (which is the no. 1 brand in India in terms of shipments), Oppo, Vivo, Realme, etc, Motorola is just too far behind when it comes to innovation and the features that users expect from a smartphone. In a report from Counterpoint Research, we could see that Xiaomi is holding the top spot in terms of market share in India;
However, Motorola company is trying its best to make their presence felt as they have announced their entry in high-end 5G enabled smartphone segment joining the likes of Samsung. They made this announcement in the IFA 2019 held in Berlin this month. Moreover, Motorola One Zoom and E6 Plus were also launched in the same event.
According to a report, Motorola’s Global Marketing Strategy Head, Francoise LaFlamme, confirmed that the company will be coming up with premium 5G smartphones. However, the price tag that these 5G models will carry will complement the premium tag itself. All-in-all, this is a much-needed step for the company if they want to make it big in today’s competitive smartphone world.
