New Realme 3i update with September security patch goes live

Realme was a sub-brand of Oppo till 2018 when they decided to get separated. Its success in the last year is due to the price-to-feature ratio. Moreover, it is the brand, were more innovation and design elements are pretty aggressively implemented and it turns out users like it.

Recently, Realme made headlines for launching two new smartphones, the Realme 5 and 5 Pro. Keeping up with the aggressiveness in the smartphone market, the Realme 5 Pro packs in the quad-camera set up at a very low price.

FYI, recently Realme gained the top rank among major smartphone player in having the lowest return rates. In simpler words, lowest return rates are measured by the customer’s first visit to a service center within the first 6 months of purchase, for both online and offline buyers.

This was reported by CMR MICI survey and the users have also ranked Realme smartphones (90%) when it comes to smartphone reliability. According to Prabhu Ram, Head of the Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR:

Smartphone brands which are responsive to consumer needs and focus more holistically on all aspects of consumer experience, including after-sales service, stand to gain in a hyper-competitive smartphone market environment.

Realme’s product quality performed the best among the major players in the industry which is impressive.

Now taking this positive perspective in mind, the company has released a new September 2019 security patch for the Realme 3i smartphone. Note that Realme is also on working on its new UI, the RealmeOS. It would probably replace the ColorOS in all of its smartphones, “if” the company comes up with the RealmeOS, confirmed by the CEO, Madhav Sheth.

This latest update rollout seems to be another step towards the RealmeOS. The update carries the version number A.22, however, the size of the update is not known at the time of writing this post. Below is the official changelog of the September 2019 update;

Note that the update is rolled out in batches via OTA and would take some time in hitting your devices. However, you can always check for the update manually by heading to Settings>>Software Updates>>Check for new updates. 

We have previously reported that the standard Realme 3 also started receiving the new security patch update. With this new update, the company is also trying to cover its bases before rolling out the Android 10 update for all of its devices.

The company has planned a roadmap and also shared with everyone when and which device will get the update. Android 10 update will start rolling out from the year 2020. The following devices will receive the updates in respective quarters:
