Mi A1 is the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi’s Android One based smartphone. For those of you naive, the Android One program was unveiled in 2014, via which smartphones released with Android One receive the security and firmware updates for three and two years respectively.

The Android One provides the user with a clean stock Android experience and is free from all the bloatware installed by OEMs. And in a recent development, the September security update has hit the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphones. This update apart from the security patch includes some bug fixes and stability improvement.

Previously, we highlighted when Xiaomi Mi A1 started receiving the August security update via OTA. Like the September patch, the August one also brought some bug fixes and improvements along with security updgradation.

According to users on Reddit, this new update has been received by users in India and Europe and seems like it has has been rolled out globally. So far, there are no issues reported by the users after updating their smartphones.

The update weighs 68.7MB in size and does not bring any major feature with it for the device. However, unlike the previous update, the download link for this new update is not available yet, we will share the link once it is out. You can check out the screenshot shared by one of the users

Update notification for the Xiaomi Mi A1

Note that the update is rolled out in batches and will take some time in hitting your Xiaomi Mi A1. However, you can always manually check for the update notification on your device by heading to Settings>>System Updates>>Check for Updates. If there is any new update, you will be notified and you can install it by tapping on it.

For a refresher, the Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched in 2017 and at the beginning of this year, it received its major OS update, the Android 8 Oreo.
