Motorola is a company thriving hard to survive in today’s competitive market. Since the takeover by Lenovo happened, the company has just not been able to keep up with either coming up with innovative smartphones or the timely security and firmware rollout for its devices.
However, in recent developments, the company has rolled out the August security update for the Moto G7 smartphone. For a quick recap, the Motorola G7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor and runs on the Android 9 Pie OS.
The phone has 4GB of RAM and up to 512GB expandable internal storage via microSD card. Motorola G7 has a battery capacity of 3000 mAh and also sports a dual-camera setup 12MP+5MP at the rear. In the front, you get an 8MP camera along with a 6.2-inch display.
This new update carries the version number PCOS29.114-134-2. As per the official changelog, the update brings the new security patch for the month of August 2019.

Note that there are 3 models under the Moto G7 lineup. And recently, the Moto G7 Power at Verizon started receiving the August security update and the users reportedly received it via OTA. There was no new major feature that the update brought for the G7 Power apart from the security update.
Talking about the latest update, it is being received by the users via OTA which means that it will take some time for reaching all the devices. If you have not received the update notification on your device, then you can head to Settings>>System>>Advanced>>System Updates.
This way you can manually check for the update and install if it is available for your device. Matter of fact, there is no way to capture the links to the OTA update for users who would like to install the update manually.
As far as the Android 10 updates are concerned for the Motorola devices, there is no official confirmation regarding it.
However, there are some beefy flagship devices under the catalog of Motorola that are bound to receive the Android 10 update. The UI of Motorola is almost stock Android and accordingly, the updates must be released quickly, which is not the case.
But, if sources are to be believed the Moto Z3, Z3 Play, Z4, G7-series, Moto One, One Power and One Action are some of the Motorola devices that are eligible for the Android 10 based updates. We will keep you notified if any further development is available in this regard.
