Android tablets are becoming less and less exciting over the time. The only name that pops-up in our minds even if we are considering a tablet is either Apple or Samsung. But there are some other manufacturers, of one which is the Chinese smartphone giant, Huawei.
The global tablet market share is not going strong and is seeing huge decline in the number of sales on a year-on-year basis. This information can be found out from a report by IDC that states that the global shipments of tablets declined by almost 32 million (approx).
Apple and Samsung have continued to carry the number 1 and 2 position, respectively while the third spot is grabbed by Huawei.
But, from the above table, we can see that Huawei is also struggling in keeping the tablet market alive and has faced a 6.5% decline in year-on-year shipments.
However, there is some good news if you are the owner of the Huawei MediaPad M5 10.8 and MediaPad M5 8.4. Huawei has rolled out the EMUI 9.1 updates for both the devices. Besides EMUI 9.1, the update also brings in the July security patch for the MediaPad M5 10.8 and 8.4.
MediaPad M5 10.8’s new update carries version number CMR-W09 9.1.0.325 (C432E5R1P3), and is huge in size weighing around 3.66 GB . Talking about the update on the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4, the update bears build number SHT-W09 9.1.0.325 (C432E2R1P2) and weighs just about 187 MB in size.

Currently, Huawei is gearing up for the launch of its new smartphone that is the Huawei Mate 30 lineup. The launch is going to happen in Munich on September 18. A total of 4 smartphones are expected from the series.
But what’s more interesting is the ban by Google on Huawei on the usage of any Google apps or services which pops the question, whether the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will be using the recently launched Huawei’s HarmonyOS or not?
