Just in case you’re trying to get your head around why the Trainline app (Europe’s train and coach app) isn’t working for you, find solace in the fact that you aren’t the only one facing issues lately.
We’ve seen users reporting the same across the micro-blogging site Twitter. While some explain the problem saying the app won’t let them book tickets or make payments (error: Payment Failure), others report they encounter an error stating “Oops! Something has gone a bit wrong. Try again later” while getting a ticket.
Here’s how some of the complainants word the issue:
@thetrainline is the app down as I am unable to purchase a ticket?

Is payment on your app down again? Neither PayPal or visa is working for me.

Having the same issue here. Your app isn’t working.

What’s good is the issue has been officially acknowledged by @thetrainline on Twitter, and here’s what they have to say:
We’re experiencing technical difficulties on our app which means currently customers are unable to book rail and coach journeys. We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause however please be assured we’re working hard to fix it…
In addition, users are being recommended to book tickets via the website instead while the glitch gets taken care of. It’s appeasing that the problem has at least been officially confirmed. Rest assured. we are keeping a continuous tab on all related developments, and will continuously update this page with relevant info.
