Samsung pioneered the debate around the display notch vs hole punch late last year with the launch of the Galaxy A8s and further amplified the whole thing with the launch of the Galaxy S10 series in March 2019.
Prior to Samsung and the hole punch, the notch was all the rage. The South Korean company does use notched display screens on devices in the Galaxy A series, but their 2019 Galaxy S10 flagship phones have holes in the display to house the front cameras.
That’s what you get on the new kids on the block as well – the Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G. But even Samsung understands that despite all the goodness that comes with the Note 10 series, not just the quality display but also the internals, the hole punch could be an eyesore.
Unlike the Galaxy S10 series where third party developers took charge and published several apps with some great wallpapers to take advantage of the hole punch, Samsung took matters into its own hands with the Galaxy Note 10 series.
While releasing its best smartphone of the year, Samsung also unveiled a bunch of wallpapers meant to help Galaxy Note 10 buyers hide the unsightly hole punch that sits right in the middle of the top-end.
The wallpapers are designed to distract your focus on the cutout by creatively taking advantage of the hole punch. Unfortunately, they aren’t many in the initial release, but Samsung has promised to work with professional artists and illustrators to expand the collection in future.
As you wait for this, you may want to check out WallPix – Note 10 punch hole 4K HD Wallpapers. This is a free app available for download via the Google Play Store and with it, you can enjoy even more creative ways of hiding the hole on your Note 10 handset.
So good is WallPix Wallpapers that it packs both HD and Ultra HD (4K) quality live wallpapers for any of the latest Notes. These have just been added to the app via the most recent update to version 2.0.7.
The free-to-download app includes in-app purchases ranging between $2 and $20, which is a negligible figure for anyone who can afford either of the three Galaxy Note 10 variants.
In addition to sorting the 4K wallpapers in a variety of categories, the WallPix app also supports three different themes, lets you add your favorite wallpaper to a favorites section for viewing later, and has a Wall of the Day section that gets updated daily with the coolest wallpaper of the day.
The WallPix Wallpapers app is available for free download on the Google Play Store. You can also check out more Galaxy Note 10 wallpapers in the growing Reddit community.
