Since last week, with every software update that hits certain flagship Android devices, owners hope that it’s the latest Android 10 stable version. The OS has been released for Google Pixels, Essential Phone, and the Redmi K20 Pro in all of its stable glory.
It was business as usual for Google and Essential as far as releasing the OS on the first day of availability is concerned, however, many in the Redmi camp were caught a bit off-guard by the release of Redmi K20 Pro Android 10 stable update.
The update was released hours after the stable version started hitting the Pixels and Essential Phone. However, the company hasn’t been able to replicate this same story for the Mi MIX 3 5G and Xiaomi Mi 9, two phones that joined Android Q beta ahead of the K20 Pro.
Instead, owners of these two are still stuck on Android 10 beta as they hope to receive the stable version in the coming days. Until then, those using Xiaomi Mi 9 on the stable China ROM can grab a new update that we hope is preparing it for the arrival of Android 10.
So disappointingly, though, the update is arriving with July security patches. This is way older than the September patches Google has bundled in the stable version of Android 10.
In fact, it’s quite unusual for the Mi 9 to receive July patches at a time when other Xiaomi phones have been updated to the newer August security patch. The update is arriving as MIUI 10.2.35.0.PFACNXM based on Android Pie.
This is the MIUI 10 Beta China Stable Version V10.2.35.0.PFACNXM for Mi 9 been pushed via OTA. Kindly give your feedback on your user experience.

Devices like the Redmi 6 & 6A, Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 9 SE & Mi Mix 2S, Xiaomi Mi Play & Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 6 Pro, Mi 8 Lite, and so on have already received August patches.
Heck, even the European variant of the Mi 9 already got August patches while the Android One-powered Mi A3 is on the latest September patch. But for some reason, the Chinese Mi 9 gets to deal with July security patches.
Below is the full changelog as provided by Xiaomi:
System
– Optimization: Updated Android Security Patch to July 2019. Increased system security.
– Optimization: Reduce noise at low volume for earphone and speakers
Lockscreen, status bar, & Notification shade
– Fix: Fingerprint icon didn’t always appear on the Lock screen
Interestingly, the changelog for the incoming update is almost identical to that of the previous MIUI 10.2.33 update other than the updated security patch. The update is airborne, meaning some Xiaomi Mi 9 units will get it ahead of others.
You can either wait for the OTA to arrive or simply grab the ROM from the link below and do a manual installation via recovery mode. If I’ve somehow lost you up to this point, you’d be better off waiting for the download notification to arrive.
