Besides your regular phones or smart TVs, you can find Android operating system in a large variety of devices. Be it healthcare or data collection in harsh environment, the Android Enterprise initiative program from Google ensures you can choose the right device for your needs with all the goodies of Android itself.
However, this article is not about Android Enterprise, but it does have a significant role. Google maintains a list of devices from various vendors to easily compare their configs and compatibility matrices which is ideal for pre-validation before enterprise deployment.
In recent past, the Mountain View giant delisted all Huawei/Honor phones from that database during the US blacklisting drama. They did add them a few days ago, but we are unable to find existing phones after taking a look at it earlier today. However, we did spot something interesting out there.
Ring a bell? While we already already have one Huawei P Smart phone in 2019 along with a Plus variant, the Chinese OEM has not released a ‘Pro’ model yet. Moreover, the phone in the render looks surprisingly similar of Honor 9X – are we going to experience yet another case of rebranding?
Unfortunately the listing does not contain very detailed info regarding the internal configurations of the phone. We do know that this mysterious Huawei P Smart Pro runs Android 9 based EMUI 9 while sporting 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.
The screen size is 6.5 inches which is somewhat close to Honor 9X (6.59 inches). A fingerprint reader does exist, and it should be placed on the right side similar to Honor 9X.
We don’t know anything about the general availability of this phone. The widget on the screen seems useless, as it shows August 14 as the date. Supposedly the phone carries a standard Huawei formula of midranger – Kirin 810, a 48 MP shooter and a large (4,000 mAh or above) battery but take that with a pinch of salt.
Google also hinted about the arrival of Huawei nova 5T via the same Android Enterprise listing, which is supposedly a rebranded version of Honor 20. The screen size does not match though, but the resemblances are quite striking!
