It is that time of the year when Samsung fans are waiting anxiously to get ‘Note’-fied! Pun intended, but the Galaxy Note lineup from the Korean OEM is the true fusion of a large sized phone and a tablet with stylus with immensely positive user experience.
The 10th anniversary Galaxy Note should borrow plenty of components – both in the software and hardware segments – from the Galaxy S10 lineup. The Qualcomm variant is tentatively going to be powered by Snapdragon 855, not 855+ as per the speculations.
As you can see, the tradition of no-Exynos in US may finally be broken after the era of Galaxy S6 lineup. Samsung US has already initiated the reservation window for Note 10, while leaked renders confirmed about the singular hole punch in the front panel.
Amidst all these leaks and guessing games, an interesting information has been surfaced. Take it with a pinch of salt – Samsung will probably introduce a higher-than-normal refresh rate display panel with the Note 10 (and Note 10+).
Razer and Asus are known for shipping 120Hz display with their gaming smartphones. As a matter of fact, OnePlus was one of the first mainstream OEMs to release a regular flagship (OnePlus 7 Pro in this case) with 90Hz support. Guess what? The panel was made by Samsung.
Some tinkerers eventually overclocked from the stock 60Hz refresh rate on their phones due to the ever growing popularity of the crispier experience. And now it looks like Samsung jumped on the same bandwagon.
According to a redditor named u/spccby, who is allegedly associated with “a major communications company”, a pre-sale demo unit of Galaxy Note 10 did sport 90Hz display with noticeable clarity.
The person is confident to ‘leak’ further info on Wednesday (i.e. tomorrow) when they should have some extra time to play with the phone. Due to NDA and no-picture policy, it was not possible for him to post any screenshot.
I had the rep confirm it. I use a 165Hz display at home so I can tell the difference between a regular 60Hz display and something that refreshes higher. I have in fact been able to tell the difference between 50 and 60Hz when a game set itself to 50.
